“Black Women Are The Future” is my longest-running collection with prgrssn. It aims to provide space for Black women to be loved, celebrated and acknowledged for their countless contributions to the world.
Inspired by "Umbrella Girl," the ‘Pepper’ collection explores what it means to be reflected in the things we consume and how cultural icons can be re-contextualized to create meaningful conversation about our culture and society.
We also partnered with Chicago-based magazine, Better In Print and self-published a magazine to highlight the stories of the three Black women featured in our Pepper campaign.
Product shots are below. All work shown was created by Oluwaseyi Adeleke.

Behind the Scenes
The following images and videos provide insight to how the set was built and used during the production of the look book. I was able to build a frame which allowed us to use real water throughout the shoot. In addition to this, a fake cloud was built and used to create a sense of surrealism for the photoshoot. All BTS was captured by Sammy Sutter (@sammy.sutter).
